Avery Singer

2017

Born in 1987, Avery Singer lives and works in New York.

Usually in black, white and grey, her painting shows how the aesthetic of digital art is affecting the way we view the subject but that it has not totally swept away notions of the sensuousness and tradition in figuration.
Her work has enjoyed remarkable institutional recognition for an artist of her young years, with exhibitions at kunsthallen, biennials (Lyon, New York) and public collections in Europe (Museum Ludwig, Cologne, Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam) and America (MoMA, Whitney & Hammer Museum).
