Born in 1977 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (United States)
Lives and works in Los Angeles
(United States).

Lesley Vance graduated from CalArts in California (2003).
Her work revisits still life set-ups that she creates in her studio and transforms into fluid abstractions, blurring the points of reference which separate figurativism and abstraction. Her work was largely discovered at the Whitney Biennial in New York in 2010. Her works have been exhibited at the Painter Painter exhibition at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis (2013), the Flag Art Foundation in New York, Bowdoin College Museum of Art in Brunswick,
the Dallas Museum of Arts (2012) and the Magasin de Grenoble (2011).
She was shortlisted for the first edition of the Jean-Francois Prat Prize (2012).
She is represented by Galerie Xavier Hufkens (Brussels) and David Kordansky Gallery (Los Angeles).
